QOTW #15: Pie

What is your favorite flavor pie? If you could have one cream pie and one pie of another type, what would you choose for the type that your favorite did not fall under?
My favorite pie is — hands down — Lemon Meringue pie. A really good Lemon Meringue pie should send a super sour sensation throughout your mouth followed by the simple, sweet enjoyment of the meringue. Other than Lemon Meringue, I also really enjoy Banana Cream pie and Chocolate Silk Pie.
Since my favorites all fall in the cream pie category, the tough question is what type of “other” pie would I pick as a favorite? I really like most pies, but my favorite non-cream pie would probably be Pumpkin Pie. I love that too.

That’s a seriously unfair question!
I don’t eat cream pies. That part’s easy. My favorite pie, though? Lemon meringue is pretty good. So are mince meat (real mince meat, not that fruity fake stuff), cherry, apple, and pumpkin.
Pie is good. Pudding in a pie shell isn’t as good.

Apple Bomb Pie, at least that’s what my brother and I used to call our mothers own creation. She did something to the apples and crust to make it rise to the point of almost bursting. The apple, cinnimon(sp?), maple syrup and other aromas would fill the house and everyone would get very hungry.

Oma’s Red Hot Apple Pie! Oma (that’s grandma for you non german speakers) makes the best apple pie (sorry Mark), then adds Red Hots to the dish before popping it the oven. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Put a scoop of Vanilla Bean icecream on top and woo hoo, I’ll skip dinner to have more pie.

For me it would be a tie between lemon and blueberry.
