Get yer asisaid shares!

By Timothy R Butler | Posted at 6:18 PM

Well, I haven't been messing with BlogShares much lately, but I decided to today. I accidentally pushed this blog way over the edge and crashed it to 1/4 its old BlogShares value. It has almost regained all of its value however from me buying a large number of newly issued shares (and through some other buying I've almost gotten back to my old $4.3 million in BlogShares worth).

At any rate, there are presently 700 newly issued shares available at $23.38 a piece. If you'd like a few shares, why not jump over here right now? This is an ideal time to pick up new asisaid.com shares if you lost yours when Just James Productions quite maliciously did a hostile takeover last month.

Disclaimer: For anyone who isn't familiar with BlogShares, this is a fantasy stockmarket. I'm not really worth 4.3 mil., and the money you use to by asisaid.com shares is fictional money. Just thought I'd mention that in case you'd never heard of BlogShares before.

RE: Get yer asisaid shares!

I picked up 250 shares. What a steal! ;^)

I signed up for blogshares, but I have no idea what I’m doing. I buy on a whim and then hold because I forget to check what’s going on. I’ve noticed you hold a piece of Sophoristically Speaking. (I can’t believe you sold 20 shares!)

Consistent with SEC rules, I have to disclose that these are forward looking statements based on the information currently available and past performance is no guarantee of future performance.

All this looks interesting, but how do you find the time to do it? Im currently so buisy I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the market.

Time hasn’t been on my side lately, and im behind like always. It seems like I’ve built such a huge life on the internet, and now Im living 2 lives, and im late in both lives…LOL

RE: Get yer asisaid shares!

Soph: I buy pretty much on a whim to. Although there are a few things you can watch. You get the biggest immediate return on stocks with lower P/E (P/E over 250 can potentially cause a crash — I in my attempt to issue enough shares to take back asisaid, the P/E went to 750+ earlier today, for example… it then crashed). Anyway, I’m a very happy Sophoristically Speaking stock holder. I did sell 20 shares to help mount my return to the top on Asisaid, but don’t worry, I’ll continue to be investing in Sophoristically Speaking in the future.

BTW, glad to see you have your safe harbor notice included in your message. ;-)

David: I don’t. Today was the first day I did much on it since probably June. Occasionally I’ll buy a stock or two — I just take my time on it. It’s pretty handy though, for instance, I found out that Josiah had a web site by seeing him invest on BlogShares. I might add, a guy needs to take a break sometime — and this is a fun way to do it… you should give it a whirl. It seems DavidCentral is getting ready for an IPO — if you claim it you’ll get 1,000 shares.

RE: Get yer asisaid shares!

I think June was the last time I did anything with blogshares. Funny you bring it up. I’ve been playing around a bit this week. Went from 200k to 1.5M in 3 days. Key is to find some blogs with P/E around 100 that no one else is playing with so you can buy up all the stocks. Since you can only buy 25% of the stocks at one time, each purchase you make raises the price. So, while the later stocks are more expensive to purchase, they increase the value of the first 25% you bought. Best thing to do is to find 2 or 3 blogs that are valued just right that you have just enough cash to buy all their stock. Play with those for a few days. Then, when you’ve made a bunch more cash, look for more expensive stocks to play with.

It’s 5 minutes here or there. No big deal. I did get bored yesterday and started playing around with all the tools available to a blog owner. Ended up skying the P/E for sakamuyo. Then, someone ahem came in and bought some stock, which set the thing plummeting. Only good news is that all those new shares I had issued were just the right price for me to start playing with and the P/E dropped to around 100. Good timing. :)

RE: Get yer asisaid shares!

Yeah, that’d be me. I killed the value of a number of stocks yesterday — mostly cashing out, but Sakamuyo didn’t do so well either (I thought its P/E was low enough — oops!). :-)

Oh well. Now I just need to decide if I can issue any more asisaid shares without causing it to crash again. What I’d really like to see is an implementation of a “poison pill” option on stock — I’m rather irritated still that one fellow knocked out all of the asisaid.com investors other than myself and held the majority of the stock for about a month. It’d be neat if Blogshares could automatically issue thousands of junk shares if someone tried such a hostile action. :-)
