I Can Only Imagine
I can only imagine / What it will be like / When I walk / By your side
I can only imagine / What my eyes will see / When your face / Is before me
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine / When that day comes / And I find myself / Standing in the Son
I can only imagine / When all I will do / Is forever / Forever worship You
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
— MercyMe, I Can Only Imagine
That's a powerful song — one of my favorites. I noticed the entirety of it is now online at www.mercymelive.com, an official part of MercyMe's web site. Rather than using RealMedia or Windows Media, MercyMe was nice enough to use Streaming MP3, so even GNU/Linux users can enjoy it without any issues. Streaming MP3's are also downloadable, here's the address: www.inorecords.com/columbia/icanonlyimagine.mp3.
While you are at it, if you like the song, take a moment to request it on your favorite radio station per the instruction on the site I linked to. Apparently this song has somehow managed to start playing on secular stations — I think it is worth letting those stations know we appreciate it!

It was big on the secular stations last winter, even getting top requests on a few.

Huh, thanks Kevin. Can you tell that I don’t listen to music on the radio much? I’m mostly a talk radio kind of guy. At any rate, I actually beat the trend on this song — I liked it before it was popular, normally I’m behind.

I love this song! Surprisingly, the disk jockies on one seculiar radio station in my area play it- or I’d never have heard of it before. I only hope that some Civil Liberties Fanatic doesnt have it pulled off all radio stations because they’ll feel it’s “unconstitional”.
I intend to buy the CD with this song—

Wot an amazing song! I’ve just been on a Baptist Youth Summer Camp and this was one of the most awesome worship songs we sang! I went forward the one night after the night session and as I was singing this song, God really broke thru in my life and I cried so much! I will never be the same again. God, YOU ROCK!

I hear this song 10 times a day at home so much that my six year old grandson knows every word. My mother passed away 3 years ago today with my whole family by her side.As she held her arms out with the most glorious smile on her face God came and took her we all felt the presence. Through her faith and her great desire to be in his presence I can imagine. I know if she could have gotten to her knees she would have been on her knees. Thank God for my precious mother and thank God for this glorious heartfelt and deeply moving song.I am visitingFredericksburg VA. and have not heard it once but I will carry it in my heart always…..
