Year End Hosting Sale

By Timothy R Butler | Posted at 3:45 AM

I thought I'd offer the same sale here that I made for the Christian Mac User Group. I would really love to get a few new hosting accounts going for year's end, so I'm going to offer $20-$100 off a year subscription to any of my company's hosting plans for regular readers of asisaid. The deal will be available to anyone regular asisaid reader or Facebook friend who signs up by January 2, 2010 at 11:59 P.M. CST.

ServerForest (www.serverforest.com) is my little business's hosting brand and it has been an independent hosting provider since February 2004. ServerForest serves out of a major data center (SoftLayer's Washington, D.C. data center) with multiple gigabit backbone connections, keeps the number of accounts on a server low (well below normal hosts), offers daily on and off site backups as a part of every package, hosts absolutely no x-rated content, and provides a number of other items I think make our offerings somewhat different from the norm. We run cPanel on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, providing a secure, stable base with easy self-service tools for clients to manipulate their accounts.

Our accounts are over-engineered for personal use, but I think our accounts are priced so that they can work for personal or small business use, and not just larger organizations. The accounts may not be the largest you can get for the money, but I find very few people really use their storage quotas, and our more modest sizes allow us to focus on providing extremely high, utility grade uptime and redundant backups (which, incidentally, means that a 1GB account actually ends up receiving quite a bit more space than it appears, but a lot of it is dedicated to backups).

Also, being a Mac guy, I am happy to point out if you would like to have Finder integration with your online storage, our accounts are accessible easily using WebDAV; you can also use SSHFS if you have ExpanDrive or MacFUSE installed. And, yes, my e-mail is stored on ServerForest's system and its IMAP functionality works great with the iPhone and iPod touch (however, if you wish, I can also link your domain with GMail).

Hit read more to see our self-managed plans. The regular prices are the very ones I have in our current brochure, which I can send in PDF to anyone who would like more information on our services.

Domain registrations are also on sale for $10/year (regularly $15/year) for most major domain extensions, such as .com, .net and .org. We are a Dotster domain registration reseller.
